Building Canada's quantum technology ecosystem and keeping top talent at home

TORONTO, Dec. 15, 2025 /CNW/ - By strengthening Canada's quantum ecosystem through strategic investments, the Government of Canada is mobilizing innovation in quantum science and technology to revolutionize critical areas such as defence, security, medicine, energy and computing, while building long-term economic resilience and protecting national sovereignty.

Quantum Collision Entertainment, supported by Let's Talk Science, brought hands-on STEM experiences to the Convergence Festival in Oshawa. Festival-goers explored the fascinating world of quantum and nuclear science through interactive exhibits and engaging activities. This support helped make science fun and accessible, inspiring curiosity and learning for children and families alike.

 On June 7, 2024, the United Nations proclaimed 2025 as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ). According to the proclamation, this year-long, worldwide initiative will “be observed through activities at all levels aimed at increasing public awareness of the importance of quantum science and applications.”
